Privacy policy

GV Freedom is a personal-finance publication. You can read every guide and use every calculator without an account, without paying, and without telling us who you are. This page describes the only cases where we hold anything about you, and what we do with it.

What we collect, and only when

Nothing, if you just read. The calculators run entirely in your browser. The numbers you type into them are never sent to us and never leave your device.

Your email address, if you give it to us. When you request the free guide, subscribe, or use the contact form, we store the address you typed, along with anything else you chose to write, and the date. That is the whole record.

Which page sent you to a partner. When you follow a link to a financial product, we record the partner, the page you came from, and the time. We deliberately do not record your IP address, your device, or any identifier that could tie that click back to you.

Which platform you arrived from. If you reach us from a link on TikTok, Instagram or a search engine, we store that one word (for example tiktok) in a first-party cookie named gvf_src for 30 days, so we can tell which channel is worth our effort. It holds the platform name and nothing else. It is not an advertising cookie, it is never read by anyone but this site, and clearing your cookies removes it.

Analytics

We use Vercel Analytics to count page views. It is cookie-free and does not build a profile of you or follow you to other sites. We see totals, not people.

Email

If you give us your address, we send you what you asked for and a short series of follow-up emails about the same subjects, delivered through Resend. Every one of them carries a one-click unsubscribe link that works immediately and needs no account or password. We do not sell, rent, share or trade email addresses, and we never will.

Where it is kept

Records live in a private repository that is not published and is not readable from this website. The site is hosted on Vercel. Email goes through Resend. Those providers process data on our behalf and nothing is passed to anyone else.

Affiliate links

Some outbound links are affiliate links, and the partner may set its own cookies once you arrive on their site, under their privacy policy rather than ours. What we earn and what it never changes is set out in our affiliate disclosure.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from any email using the link in it. You can ask us what we hold about your address and ask us to delete it, and we will do so. You can clear the gvf_src cookie in your browser at any time without affecting anything on the site.

Children

This site is written for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect anything from them.

Changes

If what we collect changes, this page changes with it and the date above moves. Questions or a deletion request go through the contact form.
